  1. The ceremony is the part where the couple is promising themselves to each other. It is the important part, to most people. It is the actual ceremony of making the vow of "in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, till death do us part". the reception is the part afterwords where there is usually food served and people toast the couple and there is a dance floor, it is the celebration, the party. It celebrates the happiness of the friends or family members that have just gotten married.
  2. The ceremony is the event in which family and friends gather to witness the couple exchange vows. This is where the "I do's" take place. The reception follows the ceremony. There is usually food, drink and music and the guests celebrate the recent marrige with the newly wedded couple.
  3. The ceromy is normally the first part with the "I Do's" The reception is the party with the dancing and food after the ceromony.
