An Atlanta-based payments software company, Rainforest, has announced plans to expand into Canada following a successful $29 million Series B funding round. The new capital brings the company’s total funds raised to $57.5 million.

Rainforest made the announcement of its latest funding round on September 8. The firm specializes in providing embedded payments solutions for software providers that serve other businesses, often within niche industry sectors. For example, a software platform aimed at roofing companies or contractors can integrate Rainforest’s payment system into its own services, enabling end customers to make payments more easily and allowing the software provider to earn revenue from those transactions.

The additional funding is expected to support Rainforest’s expansion efforts both across the United States and into the Canadian market.
