Coca‑Cola has played a visible role in American culture and events over the years. In 1985, the company developed a can designed for use in space, which was used on the Space Shuttle Challenger, making Coca‑Cola the first soft drink consumed in zero gravity.

Coca‑Cola has also been a sponsor of every Olympic Games since 1928 and was the first major corporate sponsor of the 1984 Los Angeles Games. The tradition of Olympic pin trading began with Coca‑Cola’s involvement.

The company has marked each presidential inauguration since 2005 by producing limited-edition bottles to commemorate the occasion.

Looking ahead, Coca‑Cola is participating as a signature partner of America250, an initiative to mark the United States’ 250th anniversary. Through July 4, 2026, Coca‑Cola will support activities designed to encourage Americans to reflect on national heritage, celebrate shared values, and consider the future.
