Delta Air Lines marked its 100th anniversary at the 60th Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR), reaffirming its ongoing commitment to Boston as both a major operational hub and community partner. The airline, serving as the official carrier for this year’s regatta, emphasized its longstanding relationship with the city.
“Delta is honored to support the Head of the Charles Regatta and celebrate our deep roots in Boston,” said Candice Stover, General Manager, New England Sales. “Because of the partnerships we’ve built and the connections we’ve grown over the past century, we are built for Boston—and ready for the next century of flight.”
At this year’s event, Delta introduced its Row x Wing Club along the Charles River. This space combined aviation themes with elements inspired by rowing and included a Legacy Wall that highlighted significant moments in Delta’s history in Boston. The display noted milestones such as Delta’s first flight into Boston in 1933 and recognized its current workforce of more than 2,000 employees based in Massachusetts.
The event also featured installations illustrating Delta’s impact on local communities through collaborations with organizations like Boston Children’s Hospital and Greater Boston Food Bank. These initiatives were highlighted to demonstrate Delta’s efforts to position Boston as a global gateway.
As part of expanding its community outreach, Delta announced a $25,000 donation to the YMCA of Greater Boston aimed at supporting swim safety programs. This funding will provide over 165 children with access to water safety skills and encourage future participation in aquatic sports. To commemorate this contribution, 25 students from Hurley School joined YMCA instructors for an introduction to rowing on the Charles River during HOCR.
Delta’s involvement at HOCR highlights not only its transportation services but also its broader investment in community growth within Boston. As it marks a century of operations, Delta continues to focus on connecting Boston globally while supporting local institutions.
