Delta Air Lines is marking 20 years of partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) during Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. Since 2005, Delta employees and customers have raised more than $33 million for BCRF, funding 132 research projects and supporting over 660,000 hours of breast cancer research.

In the past year, Delta achieved a record by raising $5 million for BCRF. The airline continues its annual traditions to raise awareness and funds, including turning various elements of its operations pink in support of the cause.

According to estimates, approximately 319,750 people in the United States are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2025. This figure includes about 2,800 men. Organizations such as BCRF have contributed to advancements like an FDA-authorized AI-powered platform that predicts a woman’s five-year breast cancer risk using a standard mammogram. Such technology is aimed at enabling earlier and more personalized detection.

There are now more than four million breast cancer survivors in the U.S., with ongoing investment in research contributing to improved survival rates and efforts to address racial disparities in outcomes.

“For many of us, breast cancer is personal,” said Kristen Manion Taylor, SVP – In-Flight Service at Delta. “We’ve fought it, stood by loved ones through it and united as a community against it. The strength and support of the Delta family makes that possible.”

On September 22, Delta held its annual Breast Cancer One charter flight from Atlanta to Salt Lake City with 180 employee survivors, fighters and supporters on board. The event highlights Delta’s continued commitment to employees affected by breast cancer.

“Delta’s extraordinary partnership over the past 20 years has fueled groundbreaking research and brought us closer to ending breast cancer,” said Donna McKay, President and CEO of BCRF. “Together with Delta employees and customers, we’ve turned compassion into action. We are deeply proud to stand with Delta as they mark this incredible milestone.”

As part of its centennial celebrations this year, Delta continues supporting organizations like BCRF that work toward meaningful change. Throughout October, customers can contribute onboard flights: 25% of proceeds from all food and beverage purchases will be donated to BCRF; select pink-themed drinks will see all sales proceeds go directly toward research funding.

Special menu items include Minute Maid Pink Lemonade; Pink Ribbon Refresher; Pink Promise Punch; and Une Femme Sparkling Rosé — each contributing portions or all proceeds toward breast cancer initiatives. Customers may also make direct donations via credit or debit card while onboard.

In airport lounges such as Sky Clubs or Delta One Lounges throughout October, guests can purchase a limited-edition “Pretty in Pink” drink and access QR codes for direct donations.

Customers are encouraged to donate online or contribute miles through SkyMiles’ charitable program supporting global organizations like BCRF.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation was founded in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder and is recognized as the largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide.
