Delta Air Lines has been ranked No. 3 on the 2025 PEOPLE Companies that Care List, according to an announcement from the company. The list, compiled by PEOPLE magazine, recognizes organizations that excel in creating a caring workplace for employees and making positive contributions to communities and the environment.

The rankings are based on over 1.3 million employee survey responses and data representing more than 8.4 million employees. More than 1 million of these responses came from employees at companies eligible for this year’s list.

Allison Ausband, Delta’s Chief People Officer, commented on the recognition: “Delta people demonstrate a deep level of care in everything they do – it’s the Delta Difference. I am inspired by the actions of the more than 100,000 people who make Delta, the Delta experience and the world a better place.”

Delta highlighted several initiatives as examples of its commitment to supporting employees and communities. The Delta Care Fund, a nonprofit managed and funded by Delta employees, provided over $6.6 million in grants during 2024 to assist staff facing unexpected personal crises. The airline’s emergency savings program helped 49,000 employees begin saving $1,000 after completing financial education courses and offered individual financial coaching aimed at reducing debt and improving credit scores.

In addition to internal support programs, Delta reported raising $18 million in 2024 with help from both employees and customers to benefit seven long-standing nonprofit partners. Employees also volunteered a total of 124,000 hours last year through activities such as building homes with Habitat for Humanity, constructing playgrounds with KABOOM!, planting trees, packing meal kits, and participating in beach cleanups.

Delta has maintained its position as the top U.S. corporate blood drive sponsor for eight consecutive years by contributing a record 15,585 units of blood to the American Red Cross through efforts involving employees, retirees, and customers.

Environmental responsibility is another focus area for Delta. Through initiatives like its Carbon Council and GreenUp business resource group (BRG), along with sustainable flight projects, the company aims to minimize environmental impact daily and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Company rankings for the PEOPLE Companies that Care List are determined using responses to 60 employee experience questions as well as essays submitted by participating organizations.
