Delta Air Lines has opened applications for its 2026 flight attendant hiring classes, offering positions for both English-speaking and bilingual candidates. The company refers to the bilingual roles as Language of Destination (LOD) positions.

Rachel McCarthy, Vice President – IFS ATL Operations, CX, Hiring and Learning at Delta, said, “As we approach the final months of our centennial year, we are setting our sites on 2026 and growing our flight attendant team. Delta’s flight attendants are the heart of our onboard experience. If you’re passionate about creating memorable journeys and delivering world-class service, we’d love to welcome you aboard!”

The airline outlined several requirements for applicants. Candidates must be at least 21 years old at the time of application, possess a high school diploma or equivalent such as a GED, be legally authorized to work in the United States, and demonstrate fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English. Additionally, they must be willing to fly both domestic and international routes—including overnight trips and variable schedules—to support Delta’s network of over 300 destinations worldwide.

Delta emphasizes that the main responsibility for its flight attendants is ensuring customer safety and comfort while providing high-quality service.

The company states it is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer. Reasonable accommodations are available during the application process for qualified individuals who need them, including those related to compliance with conditional job offer requirements. Medical or religious documentation may be required where applicable.

Delta has advised applicants that due to a high volume of interest during this posting period, response times may be slower than usual.
