Delta Air Lines has announced a new partnership with YouTube, offering passengers access to YouTube content and YouTube Premium during flights. The collaboration allows travelers to watch selected videos, podcasts, and music playlists from popular YouTube creators on both seatback screens and personal devices.
Julieta McCurry, Delta’s Vice President of In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity, said, “This partnership was born from a simple but powerful insight: our customers love YouTube. As two leaders in our respective spaces, each with a legacy of innovation and a deep commitment to serving as agents of human connection, Delta and YouTube are uniquely positioned to deliver an unmatched customer experience – one that meets you where you are and helps you discover more of your world.”
Passengers can now access curated YouTube content on over 165,000 seatback screens across more than 930 aircraft. This includes various podcasts and videos tailored for different interests such as travel, lifestyle, comedy, and culture. Additionally, dozens of YouTube Music playlists are available for different moods.
Starting October 1st, U.S.-based SkyMiles Members using Delta Sync Wi-Fi on domestic flights will be able to try a 14-day free preview of YouTube Premium without needing to provide payment information. This trial gives users ad-free access to the full library of YouTube videos and music offline or in the background.
Miguel Quiroga, Vice President of Product Partnerships at YouTube, stated, “We’re incredibly proud to bring the best of YouTube and YouTube Premium to the Delta in-flight entertainment experience. Whether it’s on TVs, phones, or now seatback screens, there’s so many ways to experience YouTube’s top creators, culture-defining podcasts, and fan-favorite music content. All of which is made even better with free access to YouTube Premium, so travelers can enjoy all of YouTube and YouTube Music uninterrupted.”
The partnership also introduces new boarding music powered by YouTube Music. The instrumental pop soundscape was developed with input from Delta Flight Attendants.
Delta plans further enhancements as part of its ongoing transformation in in-flight entertainment. At CES 2025, the airline announced plans for a next-generation Delta Sync seatback system set to launch on select aircraft in 2026. This cloud-based platform aims to offer more personalized entertainment options based on evolving customer preferences.
Delta recently received recognition for its in-flight entertainment offerings by being named Best Airline Entertainment in the 2025 Rolling Stone Travel Awards.
