Delta Air Lines has marked the 100-day countdown to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 by unveiling a custom Team USA aircraft livery and introducing travel packages for members to attend the Games.
The new aircraft livery, revealed on an Airbus A350, was designed by Alex Brannon, Art Director at Delta, in collaboration with Delta’s in-house creative agency, Window Seat. The design process began in September 2024 and included input from five designers who produced several options before finalizing the look after more than 20 revisions. Over 72 paint colors were used for the gradient and lines. The livery features 26 stripes representing the year of the Games, with design elements inspired by Milan’s landscapes and a blue gradient that connects this edition to Delta’s previous Team USA livery for Beijing.
“Our Team USA livery for Milano Cortina represents the journey of excellence, resilience and the drive to Keep Climbing that defines both Team USA and Delta,” said Delta’s Chief Marketing Officer Alicia Tillman. “As we prepare to carry athletes, families and fans to Milan, this livery is a visual promise of the world-class experience they can expect. It reflects Delta’s belief that meaningful journeys start with intention, and this aircraft is a symbol of that purpose in motion — connecting Team USA to their dreams and Delta to its mission.”
The special-liveried aircraft will begin flying later this year from major U.S. hubs to international destinations.
In addition to celebrating its role as Official Airline of Team USA, Delta announced it will offer exclusive travel packages via auction for members interested in attending select events at both the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. These packages include access to opening ceremonies, ice hockey matches, speed skating events, para snowboarding finals, alpine skiing finals, and closing ceremonies in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo. Each package includes hotel accommodations and airport transfers.
“Our partnership with Team USA reflects Delta’s commitment to connecting people through shared passions,” Tillman said. “These curated packages offer our Members unique opportunities to engage with Team USA at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, highlighting once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our Members.”
Delta will manage logistics for transporting U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes along with their equipment, families, and fans from cities across the United States via direct flights from Atlanta (ATL) and New York (JFK) to Milan. As the largest U.S. carrier operating in Italy, Delta is preparing for an increase in traffic during the Games season.
To support travelers carrying large sports equipment such as skis or snowboards, Delta’s Airport Customer Service teams provide guidance at check-in for oversized baggage handling. Specialized ramp agents ensure these items are loaded safely using dedicated compartments or padding within cargo holds. Equipment is tracked throughout its journey using internal systems; customers can monitor status via the Fly Delta app.
“Supporting Team USA on their journey to Milano Cortina is a meaningful mission that our full team takes on,” said Richard Cox, Senior Vice President of Airport Customer Service. “From the moment athletes check in to the final touchdown in Italy, our ACS teams are behind the scenes making it all happen — coordinating oversized gear, managing tight connections and ensuring every detail is handled with care. It’s a massive logistical effort, but it’s also deeply personal. We know we’re not just moving bags — we’re helping move athletes to gold.”
Delta also introduced its roster of athlete ambassadors ahead of Milano Cortina 2026 who will serve as storytellers during the Games.
With preparations underway since immediately after Paris 2024 concluded—and with operational teams ready—Delta says it remains committed to supporting every aspect of Team USA’s journey during one of sport’s most prominent global events.
