Delta Air Lines has announced a new update to its mobile app, aiming to give travelers more control over their journeys during the busy holiday season. The October 7.5 release introduces several features designed to make planning and managing trips easier.

One of the main additions is the Flex Calendar, which allows users to select “My Dates are Flexible” in the booking window and compare fares across different dates. This tool helps customers find the best deals for their trips and identify eligible dates for using Companion Certificates in one view.

The update also enhances the Advanced Search function, enabling travelers to include Certificates, eCredits, or Delta Gift Cards when searching for flights. For day-of-travel information, Live Activities now display more details such as boarding zone, seat assignment, and baggage carousel information directly on a user’s lock screen.

Delta SkyMiles Card Members will benefit from the new Delta Sky Club Tracker. This feature lets them monitor spending, track club visits, and see progress toward unlimited club access for the following year.

Travelers can now update their Known Traveler Number (KTN) directly within the app without needing to visit delta.com.

Later this month, a select group of users will be invited to test Delta Concierge—a digital travel assistant powered by generative AI—exclusively for SkyMiles Members. According to Delta, “Delta Concierge is designed to complement the care and expertise of Delta’s people, freeing up agents to focus on more complex, one-on-one interactions while giving customers fast, accurate answers — powered by generative AI—on the go.”

This move is part of Delta’s ongoing investment in providing a more personalized and connected experience for its loyalty program members.

Earlier this year with version 7.0 of its app, Delta introduced features such as easy redemption of Global and Regional Upgrade Certificates and improved notifications. The company also added support for international travel documentation and self-service standby rebooking through the app.

Delta says its app aims to be a comprehensive travel companion by offering real-time updates from booking through baggage claim and tools that help reduce stress during travel disruptions.
