Delta cancels flights at 13 Caribbean airports due to FAA airspace closures

Delta Air Lines has canceled flights to and from 13 Caribbean airports due to ongoing airspace closures in the region. The airline began these cancellations early Saturday morning, following directives from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The affected airports are ANU, AUA, BGI, BON, CUR, GND, SJU, SKB, STT, STX, SVD, SXM and UVF. Delta has stated that customers with bookings during the impacted period of January 3-6 will receive notifications with instructions on how to change their travel plans.

Customers are advised to monitor their flight status through the Fly Delta app or Delta.com. They can also use these platforms to adjust their itineraries as needed.

A statement from Delta said: “Delta teams continue to monitor the situation closely as the safety and security of our customers and people comes before all else.”

As cancellations are processed, affected travelers will be notified via the Fly Delta app and through contact information provided in their reservations.

Delta Air Lines is a major global carrier headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The company operates scheduled passenger and cargo flights connecting more than 350 destinations worldwide using a diverse fleet that includes aircraft from Airbus and Boeing manufacturers.
