Delta Air Lines announced on March 13 that it has canceled flights at several Midwest airports, including its Minneapolis-St. Paul hub, in response to significant snow and wind forecasted for Saturday through Sunday.

“Customers whose travel takes them to, from, or through affected airports are encouraged to proactively adjust their plans outside the anticipated weather window using the available to them,” Delta said. The company added, “Delta automatically rebooks customers to the next best itinerary, and customers can easily make further changes via the Delta app and delta.com. We encourage customers to take advantage of easy rebooking options in the Delta app and at delta.com as these are the same flight options that our reservation specialists have access to.”

Delta emphasized its commitment to safety during this period: “The safety of Delta customers and our people remains first and foremost as we closely monitor forecasts to determine necessary adjustments to flight schedules.” The airline also stated it is taking steps ahead of severe winter weather starting Saturday evening through Sunday.
