Delta Air Lines is highlighting the importance of global education with the release of “Dreams in Motion,” a short film series that will premiere on December 1 on Delta’s seatback screens. The series features Alexandria Greenlee, a Detroit native who has progressed from her upbringing by a single father to attending Spelman College and now participating in the Schwarzman Scholars program.
“Dreams in Motion” showcases Greenlee’s journey as an example of Delta’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities and fostering educational opportunities. According to Delta, her story reflects “Delta’s enduring commitment to the communities we serve, the power of partnerships, and our belief that education unlocks potential and transforms lives.”
Delta supports the Schwarzman Scholars program, which helps develop leaders prepared for international challenges by sending up to 200 scholars each year to a one-year, fully funded master’s program in global affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing. The university is recognized as one of the top institutions globally.
In addition to this partnership, Delta works with organizations such as the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) to provide scholarships, mentorships, and other resources for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). These efforts are intended to help students—especially women of color—pursue higher education and meaningful careers.
As stated by Delta: “Through our decades-long partnership with UNCF, Delta has contributed scholarships, mentorship and opportunities that empower students, especially women of color, to dream beyond boundaries and shape meaningful careers.”
During International Education Week, Delta acknowledges stories like Greenlee’s as evidence of how investing in education can lead to new possibilities. As noted by the company: “They serve as proof that when we invest in education, we invest in infinite possibilities.”
