Delta Air Lines has introduced a new artificial intelligence-powered tool called Baggage AI at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. The technology is designed to help ramp employees optimize driving routes for baggage delivery, aiming to ensure that as many customers’ bags as possible make it onto their flights.

Michael, an 11-year Delta employee who has received multiple ATL Driver of the Month awards, played a key role in implementing the tool. “AI puts everything in order for me, giving me the opportunity to prioritize which bags get delivered first,” said Michael.

The airline reports that during busy travel periods such as Thanksgiving, it transports over 380,000 bags daily for its customers and achieves an on-time arrival rate of more than 99% for checked luggage.

Richard Cox, Senior Vice President – Airport Customer Service at Delta Air Lines, stated: “We make sure that our customers can travel with peace of mind.”
