Diet Coke is reintroducing its Retro Diet Coke Lime flavor for a limited time across the United States. The beverage, which was previously available from 2004 to 2018, combines the familiar zero-sugar taste of Diet Coke with a citrus lime flavor.

The return of Retro Diet Coke Lime follows the recent limited run of Retro Diet Cherry Coke, which was sold exclusively at Kroger stores. The lime variant will be available in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans and single 20-ounce PET bottles in grocery stores, convenience stores, mass retailers, and select online outlets.

The packaging for the returning product features a nostalgic design inspired by vintage Diet Coke Cherry cans. The new look uses neon lime graphics alongside the classic Diet Coke branding to appeal to both longtime fans and younger consumers interested in novelty products.

Ryan Watson, brand director for Diet Coke North America, commented on the decision to bring back the flavor: “We spend a lot of time listening to what our consumers are saying online. People have been signing petitions and DM-ing us asking for flavors from the past, including cherry and lime. We take all of that into account before doing extensive qualitative research and testing to determine our next offerings.”

The design team aimed to honor the original look while making it attractive to new customers seeking unique beverage options.
