Emory Hillandale Hospital in Stonecrest, Georgia, has developed a community garden that is being used as part of patient care and to foster connections with local residents. The garden’s landscape is utilized for physical therapy, providing patients with opportunities to practice balance, mobility, and build confidence during their rehabilitation process.
In addition to its role in supporting recovery, the garden is open to members of the community. Neighbors and visitors are invited to participate by harvesting produce, volunteering on designated garden days, or simply spending time outdoors.
The initiative reflects a broader approach by Emory Hillandale Hospital to integrate health care with community engagement efforts.
