The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced a new organizational realignment aimed at supporting the current administration’s focus on expanding domestic energy production, enhancing scientific and technological leadership, and maintaining the safety of the nation’s nuclear weapons stockpile.
U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright said, “Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, the Energy Department is aligning its operations to restore commonsense to energy policy, lower costs for American families and businesses, and ensure the responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. These changes will help us better execute the DOE mission of delivering affordable, reliable and secure American energy for the American people.”
The department stated that this realignment is intended to improve efficiency in achieving national energy goals while ensuring continued support for scientific research and national security.
