The Georgia Department of Community Affairs announced that the Georgia Mortgage Assistance (GMA) program will stop accepting new applications on March 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. The program, funded by the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF), has helped nearly 12,000 residents remain in their homes and prevented over 1,600 foreclosures across the state.

To be considered for assistance, all application packages must be complete and submitted through the official portal at GeorgiaMortgageAssistance.ga.gov by the deadline. Customer Service representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to answer general questions about the program.

Applicants needing help with their submissions are advised to contact Customer Service before March 13, 2026, to schedule an appointment for support by phone or in person at the department’s Atlanta office. All completed applications must still be submitted by March 31, 2026.

“Georgia Mortgage Assistance is a federal program with limited funds program. Not all eligible homeowners may receive assistance before funds are exhausted, and submission of an application does not guarantee approval or availability of funds. For more information, visit GeorgiaMortgageAssistance.ga.gov.”

Applicants are encouraged to keep copies of their submitted materials and proof of delivery or receipt for their records.

Contact options include email ([email protected]), phone (770-806-2100 or toll-free at 1-877-519-4443), or mail addressed to Georgia Mortgage Assistance c/o Georgia Dept. of Community Affairs at their Atlanta address.
