The state of Georgia has partnered with InnovateUS to offer free online training for public sector employees on the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence (AI). The goal of this initiative is to build practical skills among state workers and support transparency, accountability, and public trust as new technologies are adopted across government.

Georgia’s existing guidelines for generative AI stress that labeling all AI-generated content and verifying it for accuracy, hallucinations, and bias are key steps to building trust and supporting accountability. The partnership with InnovateUS will give employees hands-on training that aligns with these principles.

State employees will be able to take part in the “Responsible AI for public professionals” course series. This includes courses such as “Using generative AI in government” and “Understanding risks and building resilience,” which show how public professionals can use generative AI while addressing associated risks and ways to mitigate them. These resources will be available through the InnovateUS platform and the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) AI learning hub.

According to the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA), its mission is to provide technology leadership and services to state agencies, promoting secure, efficient, and innovative technology use within government. More information about Georgia’s approach to AI can be found on the Georgia AI website.
