The U.S. government shutdown has entered its sixth week as legislators remain at an impasse over federal spending for the fiscal year that began October 1. This prolonged shutdown has led Georgia Institute of Technology to implement various mitigation strategies across campus, regardless of funding source, in order to preserve cash, maintain operations, and continue its academic and research mission.

Georgia Tech leadership is working with the Institute’s Federal Shutdown working group to monitor daily cash balances and prepare for additional measures if the shutdown extends through the fall semester.

A Federal Shutdown Resources webpage has been created to provide information and support for the campus community during this period. The site will be updated as new developments arise.
