Georgia wins Homecoming football game against Kentucky with strong offensive performance

Georgia defeated Kentucky 35-14 during its Homecoming football game on Saturday at Sanford Stadium. Quarterback Gunner Stockton contributed two rushing touchdowns and one passing touchdown, leading the No. 12-ranked Bulldogs to victory in front of a crowd of 93,033.

Stockton scored Georgia’s first two touchdowns by running the ball and also completed a touchdown pass before sitting out the fourth quarter. He finished with 196 passing yards, completing 15 of his 23 attempts, and rushed for 48 yards on six carries. Running back Chauncey Bowens led Georgia’s ground game with 70 yards on 15 carries, helping the team accumulate a total of 180 rushing yards.

Wide receiver Dillon Bell added two rushing touchdowns as part of an offensive effort that resulted in 425 total yards for Georgia.

The event included several Homecoming traditions. “Homecoming King and Queen Jacob Harper and Kate Hacker pose with President Jere W Morehead at halftime,” according to Dorothy Kozlowski/UGA.
