More than 3,200 members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) District 837 at Boeing’s St. Louis facilities are set to vote on a revised contract offer from the company on Sunday, August 3, starting at 10 a.m. Central Time. If the membership rejects the modified proposal, a strike is scheduled to begin at midnight on Monday, August 4.
The new offer from Boeing includes several changes in response to union concerns. The company has withdrawn its Alternative Workweek Schedule (AWS) proposal, meaning current overtime policies will remain as they are. Employees at maximum pay will receive an added annual increase of 50 cents per hour. For pension-eligible members, there will be a full $10 pension multiplier increase in the first year for those retiring after January 1, 2026; previously, this increase was to be split over three years.
Other elements of Boeing’s proposal remain unchanged from earlier versions. These include proposed wage increases totaling 20%, a $5,000 ratification bonus, vacation and sick leave policies, and healthcare benefits.
This upcoming vote follows the union members’ strong rejection of an earlier contract offer from Boeing on July 27.
The IAM Union represents about 600,000 active and retired workers across various industries in North America including aerospace and defense.
