Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Executive Council and delegates met in Savannah, Georgia, to discuss political engagement, the recent government shutdown, and strategies to mobilize union voters for the 2026 midterm elections. The gathering focused on the importance of increasing the political influence of union members in the state.

Later in the week, IAM International President Bryant delivered a keynote address at the Georgia State AFL-CIO convention. The event underscored efforts to strengthen labor’s role in state and national politics.
