IAM Local 1746, in partnership with the IAM Union Eastern Territory, has continued its support for students in East Hartford, Connecticut by participating in a backpack rally event for the fifth consecutive year. The initiative is organized together with East Hartford Public School and involves collecting donations, packing backpacks, and distributing supplies to local children.

During the event, volunteers from both IAM Local 1746 and the IAM Union Eastern Territory provided thousands of items including pencils, pens, rulers, activity books, stickers, and other school essentials. The union also participated as a vendor on distribution day.

“This is an opportunity for us to give back to our community and help students start their school year with the supplies they need,” said a representative from IAM Local 1746.

The ongoing effort reflects the commitment of IAM Local 1746 to supporting education in the East Hartford area.
