IAM opens registration for veteran advocate training at Winpisinger Center

Registration is now open for the 2026 Veteran’s Advocate Training, organized by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) Veteran Services Department. The event will take place from February 8 to 13, 2026, at the William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center in Hollywood, Maryland. Interested members must submit their registration by Monday, December 15, 2025.

The training program offers instruction on U.S. Veterans Affairs benefits provided by certified professionals. Upon completion of the course, participants will join the IAM-wide Veteran Service Officer (VSO) team—a network of trained advocates dedicated to assisting IAM members who are military veterans.

According to information from the IAM Veteran Services Department: “This specialized program provides members with U.S. Veterans Affairs benefits training conducted by certified professionals. Participants who complete the course will become part of the IAM-wide Veteran Service Officer (VSO) team, a trusted network of trained advocates ready to assist IAM members who are U.S. military veterans.”

The course aims to equip participants with knowledge and skills necessary for helping veterans navigate VA benefits systems.

Details about tuition, transportation, and curriculum are included in the official call letter distributed by IAM.
