The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has released an updated version of its Strike Manual. The manual is intended to guide IAM members, local chapters, and districts through all stages of a strike.

According to the IAM, the new manual provides information on strike authorization votes, legal requirements, communication strategies, picket-line operations, and member support. The update incorporates recent best practices and lessons learned from previous strikes.

“IAM members know that preparation is key to winning a fair contract,” said IAM International President Brian Bryant. “This new Strike Manual gives our locals and members the knowledge to plan, protect and prevail.”

The organization stated that the manual aims to ensure members are equipped with the necessary resources for effective action before, during, and after labor disputes.
