The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) recently hosted its 2025 Joint Air Transport Safety Committee (JATSC) Conference at the William W. Winpisinger Center in Hollywood, Maryland. The event focused on several key areas, including the promotion of collaborative safety programs such as the Ground Safety Action Program, efforts to prevent injuries and mitigate hazards, support for training and education, and advocacy for strong worker safety reporting systems.
Throughout the conference, daily video wrap-up reports were produced, summarizing the sessions and presentations. These included discussions on distracted driving and workplace issues like carelessness and complacency.
The IAM continues to emphasize the importance of safety and education in the air transport sector, with the goal of improving working conditions and reducing risks for its members.
