IAM Union members and supporters of Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC) convened in Las Vegas for a charity week aimed at raising funds for service dogs. The event, organized by the IAM Union, included activities such as a sporting clay shoot, race car driving, ax throwing, golf, and a gala dinner. These activities were designed to support GDA | TLC’s mission to provide service dogs to people who are blind or have PTSD and autism.

Brian Bryant, International President of the IAM Union, thanked attendees and sponsors for their participation. He said he was grateful for the turnout and acknowledged the fundraising efforts made by union members from various territories.

The Saturday night gala had a baseball theme and drew more than 1,000 supporters. During the event, this year’s “Gift of Sight” awards were presented to David Sullivan, IAM Eastern Territory General Vice President; Arthur Maratea, TCU/IAM National President; and Southwest Airlines.

Speakers at the event discussed how service dogs change lives. A Canadian military veteran spoke about his experience with his PTSD service dog named Oakley.
