The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) recently joined the Alliance for Retired Americans at its annual pension symposium. The event, led by retired IAM General Secretary-Treasurer Robert Roach, Jr., brought together labor organizations to discuss threats to Social Security and retirement plans that support older Americans, including many IAM members.

The symposium focused on what participants described as a political assault on these benefits. Organizers encouraged those interested in supporting efforts to protect retirement plans to visit the Alliance for Retired Americans’ website at https://retiredamericans.org/.

“The gathering called attention to the political assault on Social Security and retirement plans that assist older Americans, many of whom are IAM Union members,” according to organizers.
