The International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) will host its biennial convention in New Orleans from November 18 to 20, 2025. The event will include community service activities, networking receptions, the ILCA awards ceremony, and a schedule of panels and workshops focused on a theme that will be announced at a later date. The ILCA provides support for labor communicators throughout North America and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO.

DeLane Adams, Assistant Communications Director for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM Union), currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer for the ILCA.

The IAM Communications Department, along with its districts and local chapters, has received recognition at the ILCA Labor Media Awards Contest over the years. This contest is recognized as one of the largest and longest-running competitions in labor communications.

Recent winners from IAM Union in 2024 include Angela Colaizzi, who received the Max Steinbock Award for “NLRB Takes Down Union Buster.” Ashley Mumford and the IAM Journal Team secured third place for Best Print Publication with their Summer 2023 issue of IAM Journal. Ross Olson earned third place for Best Design – Single Issue Publication.

Past conventions have provided opportunities for labor communication professionals to exchange best practices across North America.

Registration for the upcoming ILCA Convention is open to all interested parties; membership is not required to attend.
