The Metro Atlanta Chamber recently held its inaugural “Atlanta – Where You Belong” internship fair at the Delta Flight Museum. The event was attended by students and young professionals from metro Atlanta, other parts of Georgia, and neighboring states. Attendees brought résumés and prepared pitches as they sought to connect with major employers.
More than 1,000 early-career professionals participated in the event, which featured 33 employers such as Delta Air Lines, Norfolk Southern, The Home Depot, and UPS. Registration for the fair was conducted through the Georgia Interns App, with over 1,800 registrants representing more than 170 colleges and universities from across Georgia, the United States, and internationally.
Zach Fiore, director of talent pipeline management at the Metro Atlanta Chamber, said: “The energy and turnout at the Atlanta – Where You Belong internship fair showed just how eager students and young professionals are to find their place in metro Atlanta’s job market. By connecting attendees directly with Fortune 500 companies and local industry leaders, this event plays a critical role in helping the next generation launch successful careers in the core of Georgia.”
The internship fair is part of a larger talent strategy by the Metro Atlanta Chamber. This includes initiatives like ATL Interns After 5, which aims to help students connect with opportunities and each other. The program’s latest edition included career events, cultural experiences, and community engagement activities designed to give interns insight into living and working in metro Atlanta.
Metro Atlanta continues to attract recent college graduates both nationally and internationally due to its diverse industries and professional growth opportunities. Events like this internship fair contribute to establishing the region as a hub for emerging talent.
