Nominations are now being accepted for the 2026 President’s Fulfilling the Dream Award at the University of Georgia. The award honors individuals from both the university and Athens-Clarke County communities who work toward realizing Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of equality and justice.

Recipients will be recognized during the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Breakfast, scheduled for January 16, 2026. The event is sponsored by UGA, the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government, and the Clarke County School District to commemorate Dr. King’s life and legacy.

According to organizers, “Award winners demonstrate commitment to volunteerism and civic engagement in addressing critical community issues, utilize Dr. King’s philosophy to reduce tensions, resolve conflict and foster goodwill and apply his teachings to build bridges of understanding and unity.”

Nominations can be submitted online until October 15, 2025. Questions about nominations may be directed to UGA’s Office of Academic and Community Engagement at 706-583-8195 or oace@uga.edu.
