pipIQ, a new artificial intelligence platform, has launched in Atlanta as the first AI-focused initiative from Tarkenton, an enterprise SaaS development company founded by former NFL quarterback Fran Tarkenton. The company aims to address the risks of “shadow AI” that threaten businesses, particularly small and mid-sized ones.

Fran Tarkenton explained to Hypepotamus that pipIQ is part of the company’s ongoing mission to support small businesses in competing within their markets.

The rise of AI tools can be daunting for smaller companies that may not have the financial or technical resources to develop their own solutions. However, Horton said this period offers a significant opportunity for these businesses.

“If we can get ahead of it, I think it’s the one time in history where the small and mid-sized business can truly do leaps and bounds over any big business,” Horton told Hypepotamus. “If you’ve ever been a part of big businesses, it’s death by committee. To get one thing through, it’s going to take 18 months and multiple meetings.”

Horton contrasted this with the experience of SMBs using pipIQ: “can make a decision and implement it today.” He added that this enables employees to benefit from what amounts to a “full time assistant” immediately.

Currently, pipIQ employs just under 50 people.
