Rep. Nikema Williams said that families are experiencing severe economic strain, and the Amazon-supported community food distribution aimed to address immediate needs while efforts continue on long-term solutions. This statement was made on Instagram.
“The first car showed up for Amazon and @choices4kids Thanksgiving food distribution at 4:00 am — and distribution didn’t start until 11:00 am,” said Nikema Natassha Williams, U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 5th congressional district (D), according to Instagram. “People are hurting right now, Trump and Republican policies are raising costs and crushing the economy. We all have to do our part to help. Plates on tables is the bare minimum. I’m fighting for better for our communities.”
According to Bulletin Intelligence, Amazon partnered with the Center Helping Obesity in Children End (CHOICES) for its ninth annual Thanksgiving Food Pantry. The event distributed more than 2,000 holiday meals at Atlanta Technical College. Organizers described food insecurity as a significant issue in the community.
The Thanksgiving distribution in Atlanta provided over 2,000 meals to families through both on-site pickup and mobile deliveries, as reported by Bulletin Intelligence. Seniors facing transportation challenges also received home deliveries. The event involved Amazon, CHOICES, Rep. Williams, and local officials.
The Bulletin Intelligence video highlights the Thanksgiving event as part of broader efforts to tackle food insecurity, a persistent problem affecting households nationwide. Public-private partnerships like the Amazon–CHOICES collaboration are utilized to expand meal access. The distribution reflects ongoing demand for assistance.
