This week saw several developments in the Southeast startup ecosystem. Sola, an InsurTech company that originated at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, secured $8 million in Series A funding. Elysian, a Tennessee-based InsurTech startup, raised $6 million, as reported by Axios.
Miami’s Dispatch, operating in the FinTech sector, completed an $18 million Series A round according to Crunchbase. ThreatCaptain, a cybersecurity startup from South Carolina, closed a $750,000 pre-seed round. Laborup, an AI-focused company that recently relocated from San Francisco to Nashville, obtained $5.8 million in seed funding.
In North Carolina, Bionic Health of Durham was acquired by Thrive—a telehealth company based in Raleigh. Bionic Health was founded in 2022 and offers preventive care plans powered by artificial intelligence.
