Southeast startups recognized on Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500; Salesforce expands Georgia presence

Deloitte has published its annual North America Technology Fast 500 list, which ranks the fastest-growing companies in technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, fintech, and energy tech. Several Southeast-based companies were included in this year’s ranking. Atlanta-based Impiricus topped the list at number one. Other notable Southeast entries include Besitos from Tampa at number 15 and Rentvine from Estero, Florida at number 18. Additional companies from cities such as Atlanta, Morrisville, Durham, Charlotte, Tampa, Raleigh, Miami, Coral Gables, Tallahassee, New Orleans, Chapel Hill, Nashville, Memphis and Alpharetta also made the list.

Vulcan Elements announced plans to hire approximately 1,000 workers for a new $1 billion factory in Benson located in Johnston County. The Durham-based startup manufactures rare-earth magnets and earlier this year raised $65 million in Series A funding.

Salesforce stated it will invest $15 million to expand operations in Georgia. This expansion is expected to create more than 250 jobs in Fulton County by the end of 2028. The Center for Entrepreneurial Development (CED), known as North Carolina’s longest-standing network supporting high-growth entrepreneurs, announced Alex Bloom will become its next CEO starting January 1, 2026. Bloom is a three-time startup CEO and will succeed Kelly Rowell.

AgeTech Connect organized a summit at Atlanta Tech Village – Buckhead that brought together medical professionals, tech founders and investors to discuss challenges related to aging populations.
