Southeast tech companies announce major investments and leadership changes

Several technology companies and startups across the Southeast announced major investments, expansions, and milestones this week.

Vantaca, a Wilmington, North Carolina-based company specializing in AI-driven community association management, secured a minority growth investment of over $300 million. The investment, led by Cove Hill Partners, values the company at $1.25 billion.

Conceal, a cybersecurity firm based in Augusta, Georgia, raised $26 million in a Series B funding round, according to Crunchbase. Miami’s MedTech startup OneImaging completed a $31 million Series A round. The Bardot, a beauty startup from North Carolina, closed a seed round totaling more than $318,000.

PromptWrx, headquartered in Atlanta, won the top prize of $375,000 at the Startup Showcase LIVE pitch competition during Venture Atlanta. The investment was provided by Knoll Venture, Front Porch Venture Partners, Cofounders Capital, Silicon Road Ventures, and TiE Atlanta.

SetSale, an AI-powered sales enablement platform focused on the HVAC industry, received an investment from North Carolina’s Primordial Ventures.

Charleston, South Carolina-based Sprockets was acquired by a Seattle-based company.

Digital AI is moving its headquarters to Raleigh, North Carolina.

Radiant, a California-based firm, announced with Tennessee Governor Bill Lee plans to build its first factory on a former Manhattan Project site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

The Thriving Cities Fund has launched in North Carolina. The fund, a partnership involving fintech startup Homegrown and Atlanta unicorn Flock Safety, aims to provide flexible, non-dilutive capital to brick-and-mortar businesses that serve as neighborhood anchors.

Doug Lebda, founder and CEO of Charlotte-based fintech LendingTree, died Sunday in an all-terrain vehicle accident at the age of 55.

NC Tech released the list of finalists for its upcoming awards event scheduled for December 9. The Top Ten Startups To Watch include BuilderPad (Raleigh), CareHome (Wilmington), Fastbreak AI (Charlotte), Franzy (Charlotte), Nimble Energy (Carrboro), Scale Social AI (Raleigh-Durham), Skillmaker (Carolina Beach), Sunlight (Cary), Troodie (Winston-Salem), and Virnika (Chapel Hill).

TiE Atlanta and Emory University’s Goizueta Business School announced that Jack Markwalter, CEO of VIVA Finance, will deliver the keynote address at the Siggie Awards during AngelCon ATL on November 11, 2025.
