The next release of state Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey estimates is scheduled for September 17.
This report is based on statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS). The JOLTS program provides data on labor demand and turnover using model-based state estimates that incorporate information from JOLTS samples as well as other employment surveys such as the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) and Current Employment Statistics (CES).
Definitions provided by BLS clarify that job openings are counted if they meet specific criteria regarding timing within the reference month; hires represent all payroll additions during that period; separations include all departures categorized as quits or involuntary terminations.
Further details about definitions or technical notes related to this survey can be found through BLS resources.
