The Home Depot has launched its Path to Pro initiative to address the ongoing skilled labor shortage in the United States. The program aims to support individuals interested in careers in the skilled trades by offering free resources, training, and opportunities to connect with potential employers.

Path to Pro consists of three main parts. The first is PathtoPro.com, which provides information for those seeking jobs in the skilled trades. The second component, the Skills Program, delivers free, on-demand training in both English and Spanish. This training is designed to prepare participants for various roles in trades and construction, helping to build a new generation of professionals.

The third element, known as the Network, allows jobseekers in construction to connect with hiring Home Depot Pros. Through this network, Pro customers can review candidates’ portfolios, experience, and qualifications, and post jobs at no cost. The service is offered as a free benefit to Pro Xtra members and aims to streamline the hiring process for both employers and jobseekers.

Anyone aged 18 or older can join the Path to Pro Network by creating a free profile at pathtopro.com/find-jobs. There are no enrollment caps, so anyone interested can participate. The Skills Program offers virtual, on-demand courses that students can complete at their own pace. After finishing the training, participants can build a profile in the Path to Pro Network to signal their readiness for employment. Additional resources are available to help candidates create strong profiles.

Jenna Arca, Director of Workforce Development at The Home Depot, said: “We know that there are more than 400,000 open construction jobs today, and counting. We aim to help build the next generation of trades professionals by providing them with the free resources and training they need to launch a successful career and connect them directly with hiring professionals through the Path to Pro Network.”
