The University of Georgia has announced the start of a new strategic planning process that will shape its direction for the next five years. The initiative, set to begin this fall and continue through the 2025-26 academic year, involves forming a 30-member Strategic Planning Committee. This group includes faculty, staff, students, and alumni from across the university.

Alton M. Standifer, vice provost and chief of staff to the provost, and Nathan A. Moore, deputy chief of staff to the president, will facilitate the committee’s work. Their task is to create a series of goals and key performance indicators based on three main priorities: advancing instructional excellence and student success; accelerating research and innovation; and deepening service to communities in Georgia and beyond.

According to the university, “The committee will seek to develop goals that are clear and measurable, achievable over a five-year period, and overarching to encompass UGA’s major academic and administrative units.”

University officials emphasized that feedback from community members is important in shaping these institutional goals. They are encouraging participation in a short survey by September 12.

“Input from the UGA community is vital to identifying key institutional goals for the next five years,” stated university representatives.

More information about the planning process and details on how to get involved can be found at UGA Strategic Plan Committee.
