The Winpisinger Center will begin its Online Steward Training program on October 1, aiming to provide essential training for new shop stewards who are unable to attend in-person sessions. The program is designed for members in good standing who serve as stewards and offers flexibility with multiple session times each week.

“This initiative is another step forward in expanding our members’ access to quality union education, no matter where they live or work,” said Winpisinger Center Director Mary McHugh.

The training will be conducted over three consecutive weeks, with each session lasting two hours and covering two topics. Sessions are scheduled on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. EDT, Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. EDT, and Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. EDT.

Week one will address the role of the steward along with steward rights and responsibilities. Week two will focus on grievances and investigations. The final week will cover just cause and discipline cases as well as contract cases and past practice.

Members interested in participating can self-register through the provided link or contact the Winpisinger Center directly for more information.
